"Nerd, Camaro driver, programmer, cloud architect, husband, comic collector and beer lover. LLAP!"
Born in Leeuwarden, living in Heemskerk with my wife Ilonka (married since 2005). I studied Computer Science at the Hogeschool van Amsterdam.
By day a senior software engineer & cloud architect. By night a homelab operator, Homey app developer, 3D-printing tinkerer, comic collector, photographer and — whenever the weather permits — the guy behind the wheel of a black-and-blue 2010 Chevrolet Camaro 2SS.
The LLAP that closes my bio — Live Long and Prosper — is a quiet nod to a lifelong Star Trek fandom that started, like many Dutch nerds of my generation, in front of a Philips MSX computer.
I sit in Team Platform at Effectory — Europe's largest employee-feedback platform, serving 1,200+ organisations across 110 countries. My day-to-day spans cloud infrastructure, identity, and the internal platforms that keep engineering teams moving. I also own the technical side of Effectory's ISO 27001 & SOC 2 compliance — including the BC/DR whitepaper.
Five open-source apps on the Homey smart-home platform — each one bridging my homelab stack into home automation.

Sonarr + Radarr status and download-queue management.
Control the SABnzbd usenet downloader from Homey flows.
Connects the Komga comic server to Homey.
Brings the Immich photo library into automation flows.
A Proxmox-based homelab hosting a fully self-managed media & automation stack. Every service under my own control — nothing farmed out to a cloud subscription if I can avoid it. The Synology sits behind everything as pure storage.
The crown jewel of the garage: a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro 2SS, wearing a signature black-and-blue livery that named the car, the Instagram account, and its own website.
Shot on a Sony A7III — cars, cityscapes, airshows and landscapes. Post-processed across Lightroom, Photoshop, Luminar and Topaz. More on Instagram @jurjen.ladenius.
For ten years, Ilonka and I have driven the Camaro in the annual fundraiser rally for Stichting Dag met een Lach — a Dutch foundation creating special experiences for children with serious and life-threatening illnesses.
We give children the chance to ride in the Camaro, consistently beat our fundraising targets (152% of goal in 2026), and build & maintain the fundraiser website ourselves. The 2026 rally — the 10th edition — runs to Traben-Trarbach on the Moselle.
I also volunteer with Stichting Opkikker, bringing the car to Opkikker days for seriously ill children and their families. The Camaro has a way of making people smile, whatever they're going through.
Our fundraiser page962 physical issues catalogued — from Suske en Wiske to Lady Mechanika — plus a digital library on self-hosted Komga.
945 unique beers on Untappd. Favourite: Westvleteren 12. "I Believe in IPA!"
PC, PS5 & Steam Deck. 964 games, 18-year Steam member. Starfield, No Man's Sky.
Designed in Fusion, printed on Bambu Lab. Published an MSX lightbox on MakerWorld.
Grew up on an MSX 1; still own a Philips MSX 2 NMS8250. Where it all started.
Gothic rock & dark/symphonic metal — Tiamat, Paradise Lost, Epica, Kamelot.
Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica & Star Trek. In any conflict, the answer is Star Trek.
Committed Trekkie. LLAP closes every bio for a reason. 🖖
